Zip World's Stadium Drop starts with a climb to the roof canopy of the Principality Stadium, the equivalent of more than 200 steps, before you step onto a viewing platform above Cardiff. From up there you can see the city, the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) hills, and the Welsh coastline in the distance.

Then comes the main event. After a safety briefing and gear-up with the safety equipment, guides teach you the techniques for the descent, and you abseil 30 meters down the stadium's facade. You control your own speed on the way down. The whole experience runs about 1h 30m.

Reviewers have praised the instructors, and one suggested aiming for a quieter session for the abseiling. It is not a good pick for anyone who cannot manage the climb up, and there is no pickup, so you make your own way to the meeting point inside the stadium complex.

What To Expect From The Tour

A few practical points will make the session run more smoothly, from what to wear to what you cannot bring up with you.

• What to wear. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a hair tie. High heels, sandals, flip flops, and open-toed shoes are not allowed, and loose clothing is also on the prohibited list.

• Food and drink. Nothing to eat or drink is included. Eat before you arrive or plan a stop afterwards, since the session itself is only about 1h 30m.
